BEVANS HISTORY
Bevans
located in Albany on the South Coast of Western Australia
was founded in 1954 and has been under the same family management
for over 50 years. Norm Bevan who was the founder and is the
father of it's current Managing Director specialized in catching
Salmon and Herring, and in 1972 Pilchards were added to the
companies catch.
Garry Bevan took over the Management of the Business in 1982
from his father and continued to expand it's activities Australia
wide for the next 13 years. In 1995 a decision was taken to
rebuild and construct a new state of the art seafood processing
factory. The core activities of Bevans (WA) Pty.Ltd. are processing,
packing and marketing local seafood to local and export markets..
The
new processing factory built in 1996, was designed and built
to meet stringent Australian Quarantine Inspection Services
(AQIS) an Department of Primary Industry Export Standards
for the processing, packing and storage of various seafood
varieties for local and export markets. The Plant holds AQIS
export licence 2747 and operates to SQF2000 Reg. No 1527 and
Food Operations HACCP certification.
Garry Bevan has had many years experience in the fishing
and processing Industry he has helped his father build the
business to what it is today. His aim is to develop the export
market and human consumption fish and value add the catch.
